Tony Pigford - Executive Director of Engage8
Tony Pigford is a fourth generation Denver native, and a third generation product of Denver Public Schools. He studied business administration at Florida A&M University. He has vast and varied corporate experiences including corporate training for software systems, sales management, and most recently a mobile gaming analyst for a mobile software company.
He has been a resident of District 8 for 5 years and lives in a home that has been in his family since 1935. His connection and passion for the rich history of his neighborhood, make being the Executive Director of Engage8 a very rewarding experience.
His desire to be a part of such a great organization stems from wanting to help make significant positive and sustainable change in his community. That coupled with his family’s philosophy of living a life that is full of service oriented work make this position a natural fit.
There is a lot of synergy between the ideals he was raised with, his life experiences and the direction that Engage8 would like to go.
He understands that maximizing the potential of District 8 requires engaging all members of the community to first and foremost ascertain what direction the community would like to go. He also believes that empowerment is the key ingredient to creating communities that can sustain themselves, grow, thrive and sow seeds of success for future generations.

Councilman Albus Brooks
Councilman Albus Brooks was given the idea for Engage8 while on the campaign trail, after talking with community members who had lots of positive ideas and solutions to common problems. Engage 8 is the blossoming of the many seeds that have been planted, and is a community-guided organization that is committed to empowering the community and all of the ideas that come from the ground up. After helping start Engage8 in his first year in office and successfully spinning it off, Councilman Brooks is committed to partnering with the organization and helping when needed.
